Update On My Horse Sir Walter

At the last minute, this past Sunday morning I decided to drive to Ocala to see Walter.  I just knew he needed to see me.  Sir Walter is my best friend.  I can tell what he thinks, and he can do the same for me.  Walter always knows how to make me feel better.  He is a tough horse, but still a big baby at heart.  Right now, he has a serious disease Laminitis that has taken a serious toll on him recently.  Laminitis is one of the top causes of death for horses.  We were told Walter has a 25% chance of life due to his condition.  The thought of this makes me tear up and get choked up inside... I know he can pull through, but he really  needs strength and prayers.

Today, Walter underwent a tenotomy on his right leg (he had the tenotomy procedure on his left leg about a month ago).  So, now relieving the pain in both legs, we are praying Walter will become comfortable and stable.  We are praying for a miracle so he can become a pasture/trail horse and be reunited with his "wife" Minnie.
I'm glad I was able to spend the past few days keeping him company.  We played ball together, laid in the stall together, talked, hugged, kissed, and he even tried to keep me there by tugging my shoelaces and grabbing onto my jacket (he def. did not want me to leave)..

Walter knows one day he will be able to play in the pasture.  He watches outside his window all the time.

When I call his name, he gives me the sweetest look ever...

He likes to play Water Polo ;-)  He absolutely LOVES his ball!

Lots of Kisses for Sir Walter

Saying prayers.

Walter is strong.  This was taken today this morning before his surgery.
I will post a more detailed article on Equestrianstylist.com  check it for more info on Sir Walter and his recovery.  Thank you for your thoughts and prayers.

  1. My thoughts and prayers for your beautiful horse and for you too!

I've followed your blog silently - loving your interests - I'm a fellow Lilly wearer in Boca Raton - much older than you but I so respect your journey - getting your MBA, your love for your family, friends and God. I hadn't checked your blog in some time and was so sad to see you had lost your grandmother and now are dealing with your dear Walter's illness. Hope you always remember the loss is always inevitable but it makes us hold dear to all the precious gifts we are given in life. May only sunshine bless your upcoming days!
